Kiralawella Beach
Kiralawella Beach is situated close to the iconic
Dondra Lighthouse and remains largely untouched by heavy tourist activity. It
is primarily used by local fishermen as a spot to park their boats. This serene
beach offers a calm and peaceful atmosphere, far removed from the bustling
noise of the town.
The name "Kiralawella" is derived from the Kirala
tree, which naturally grows along riverbanks and lagoons in the area.
Despite its remote location away from the main
Matara-Kataragama road, reaching Kiralawella Beach is quite easy. Simply take a
turn onto Kiralawella Road near the Devinuwara Dewalaya, and you'll find
yourself at this tranquil destination.

This place is remote and hidden, but it is highly recommended for surfing and snorkeling. The surrounding view is truly breathtaking. This place has the potential to become another Hiriketiya. This beach is longer than Hiriketiya. I would highly recommend visiting this place.
